Standard Bank this week handed a brand new Toyota Yaris to Omaruru Children’s Haven. The bank won the car through a competition run by Indongo Toyota earlier this year and then decided to give it to a charity through a lucky draw. The nomination process was run on the bank’s Facebook page. Staff members of the bank then nominated a charity of their choice and five charities were short listed. These five, Omaleshe Charity from Oshakati, Kakurukaze Mungunda from Opuwo, Helpende Hand Home from Lüderitz, Omaruru Children’s Haven and the National Disability Council of Namibia took part in a lucky draw in which Omaruru Children’s Haven emerged victorious.
Omaruru Children’s Haven, caters for children who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, street children, victims of abuse and neglect or children with critically ill parents.
