Regional ministers to review implementation of educational programmes

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) ministers responsible for education, science, technology and innovation will meet in Windhoek from 17to 21 to review progress of the implementation of related programmes.

In a media statement this week, the SADC secretariat said that the ministers of 16 member states will also consider key policy and strategic instruments of cooperation on regional integration in the areas of education and training, science, technology and innovation.

“The role of education and skills development and science, technology and innovation are key in contributing to the advancement of the SADC Industrialization Agenda through building the necessary skills and capacities and investments in research, development and innovation for modern, knowledge economies,” the statement read.

SADC is an inter-governmental organization established with the aim to further socio-economic cooperation and integration as well as political and security cooperation among 16 member states.
