Toyota to help create a peaceful society without discrimination through sport

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced that it will be the official sponsor of the 1st African Beach Games that will take place from 14 to 23 June in Cape Verde, on Sal Island.

The event comprises 11 beach games, with 1000 athletes from 54 countries participating.

The beach games will include football, handball, volleyball, tennis, karate, 3×3 basketball, freestyle football, kite boarding, coastal rowing, open water swimming and a half marathon.

As a partner, TMC aims to help create a peaceful society without discrimination through sport, and is committed to creating a sustainable society through mobility.

To create an ever-better society for the next 100 years and beyond, Toyota has to dream beyond conventional vehicles and create new forms of mobility that overcome the limits of today and solve the problems of tomorrow.

“We share this dream and this spirit of continuous improvement with Sal 2019 athletes, who challenge their own limits every day. We hope that Sal 2019 will create an opportunity for everyone affiliated with Toyota to challenge their impossible and defy their limitations,” Toyota added.

Sal 2019 CEO Yann Craven said, “It is an honour that one of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers, Toyota, has joined our sponsor family to assist us in delivering the 1st African Beach Games – the biggest sporting event in the history of Cape Verde.”
