Funds for Krumhuk training

The Bank Windhoek Social Investment Fund has donated N$220,000 to the Agricultural Training Centre Krumhuk (ATCK) to fund the practical training courses including the course material needed for the training. Here, Marion Prinsloo, Administration Officer at ATCK, Stephen Barrow, Manager of ATCK, are with Elzita Beukes of Bank Windhoek at the handover of the donation. Krumhuk is a residential training institution established in 2009. It provides training in Sustainable Agriculture and Farm Household Management to young Namibians who have completed Grade 10. Students are also exposed to the marketing side of farming through the supply of surplus produce to restaurants in Windhoek and farmers’ markets. The training centre is situated on a small farm, thus combining both theory and the practical application of agriculture. The farm provides the training ground for small-scale farmers, while the two associated commercial farms, Farm Krumhuk and Farm Eichenbach provides the practical training for commercially-orientated farming.
