More Nam-Gang than ever

The Theatre Sports team will go GangNam style in their latest stage offering at the FNCC next week Thursday.

The Theatre Sports team that is famous for thriving on “inspired silliness” is back again to deliver more fun and laughter in ‘Nam-Gang style at the Franco Namibia Cultural Centre gallery (FNCC) on Thursday 11 April. It seems South Korean rap artist PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ video which has had a record number of over one billion hits on Youtube, has also gone viral in Namibia and has infected the poor Theatre Sports crew. The show will also have a special appearance by Namibian rap artist Wambuseun, who is famous for rapping in Afrikaans and even won the Namibian Annual Music Award for Best Afrikaans album in 2011.
He will perform his version of Gangnan style titled ‘Nam-Gang’ style as well as other songs making it an evening of hilarious fun, laughter, rapping and horse trotting in PSY style. Wambuseun is said to be the resurrector of dead crowds through his music, and he promises to do just that next Thursday evening.
The Theatre Sports team has entertained crowds with their interactive improvisational silliness in their performances and this time things will not be any different. Every person in the audience becomes a performer when Theatre Sports is on stage as they act not only according to their scripts but also to cues from the audience. This interaction helps the group deliver holistic comedy every time they perform. The team is facilitated by Tanya Terblanche from the UNAM Drama Department. Tickets to the show are N$30.
