MVA Fund brings sports fever to the capital

The MVA Fund will bring serious sports fever to the capital city on Saturday, 06 April 2013 when the institution hosts its Annual Corporate Sports Day. The one day tournament also serves as a fundraising event for the Fund to enable its staff members to partake in the Interfund Games taking place in Swaziland on 25 – 28 April 2013.
The Interfund Games is an annual event where the regional sister funds namely, MVA Fund Namibia, MVA Fund Botswana, Sincephetelo MVA Fund in Swaziland and the Road Accident Fund in South Africa come together, network and strengthen ties by participating in different sport codes.
In order to be able to travel to Swaziland, Team MVA Fund needs a massive N$ 410 000 to cover all expenses related to the trip. The management in consultation with employees made a conscious decision to minimise the financial burden on the institution and thus embarked upon an aggressive fundraising drive in February this year. In this regard, the institution hosted a series of fundraising events including a bowling day and sports days held at Walvis Bay and Ongwediva respectively. The upcoming sports day is the last event and promises to be bigger and better than last year’s event, and is poised to set a new standard for corporate sport days in the country.
The Eros Primary School sports ground will be a hive of activity as it hosts what promises to be one of the biggest social sporting events in the country this year. So far, 20 companies have already signed up for various sports codes: soccer, netball, volleyball and tug-of-war. The MVA Fund is therefore inviting all interested companies to register for the one-day tournament by contacting Ms Rebekka Goagoses at 061 289 7079 or via email at: [email protected]. The entry fee is N$1000.00 per team and great prizes are up for grabs.
The sports day is also an opportunity for sport lovers and the public at large to enjoy a great day with their friends and loved ones in a relaxed fun-filled environment. The Fund is therefore inviting the public to join them at Eros Primary School on Saturday, 06 April 2013 at 07h00 in support of the team’s fundraising effort. There is going to be, jumping castles, braaivleis and drinks on sale.
