Bonanza in Katima

The annual Sanlam Easter Bonanza that takes place in Katima Mulilo every Easter is the biggest sports event in the entire Caprivi region and Sanlam Namibia has been sponsoring this event since 2009 making this year the fifth. More than 15 teams have been participating every year and this year 18 teams have registered.
Besides being a form of entertainment for the region which is normally quiet, the Sanlam Easter Bonanza is an event that many people in the region and from the region are always looking foward to. The event helps the youth to engage in an initiative that is positive and prevents them from taking part in activities that are detrimental such as drinking, smoking, crime, etc. Sports is also important for mental and physical health of the participating individuals.
Sanlam Namibia has so far supported numerous sports development programmes and projects, and is still committed to allocating available resources to sports initiatives that will positively influence the lives and aspirations of all Namibians, especially the previously disadvantaged. The main aim of our sport sponsorship is to unlock the inherent sport potential that exists as well as to unearth the hidden talent and stars in our country. The highlights of the sports sponsorships that are yet to take place within the next two months are the Namlife U/17 Youth Games which will take place in May at Swakopmund as well as the Sanlam Primary Schools Rugby in Windhoek.
The Sanlam Easter Soccer Bonanza will take place from, March 29 to April 1st at the Katima Mulio Sports Complex and games will start from 07H00 – 18H00 each day.
