Social grant payments for April delayed due to technical glitches
The Ministry of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare announced in an official statement that there will be a delay of a few days in the normal payment of social grants such as old age pension and disability grants.
“The ministry would like to extend its apologies for the delay that will be experienced in the month of April with regard to the payment of social grants,” the statement read.
Technical difficulties with bank transfers is the cause of the current problem however, recipients who receive their grants in cash at pay points will be able to collect their payments as they usually do.
According to the ministry the payments will normalize from the end of April.
