Reggae, Dancehall Invasion set to blaze up Windhoek – Judgement Yard Djs to headline show
Club Euphoria, located in Ausspanplatz, across Toyota Indongo in Windhoek will play host to the Reggae and Dancehall Invasion on Friday, 29 March. The event will kick off at 20:00 hrs and tickets will be sold at the entrance for N$100.
Headlining the event will be Judgement Yard, a Zimbabwe, Harare-based reggae/dancehall set, comprising of different Djs.
The outfit is characterized by various live performance and has released a number of mixtapes which feature Zimdancehall and international artists.
Judgement Yard has played in various countries, including Australia, UK, South Africa, Dubai, Cyprus and Botswana, to name a few.
According to the organisers the event is a celebration of reggae/dancehall music and culture, in which the artists spread the message of love, hope and equality for all people worldwide.
In a recent interview, DJ Abisha Palmer from the stable said he is happy with the response they are getting every time they stage shows in other countries and promising fireworks at the Reggae and Dancehall Invasion to be hosted in Namibia.
“I am looking forward to meet reggae and dancehall music lovers in Windhoek at Club Euphoria,” added DJ Twobad, who is also part of the set.
The organiser representing Club Euphoria Management, Kuda Chigama said they are working hard to ensure that they pull off a memorable event experience and are expecting a significant number of audiences.
Meanwhile, event spokesperson, Gordon Jay said many people have already shown interest and the hype is huge.
“We are optimistic that this will be big considering the nature of the genre, which is often not played enough locally and is overshadowed by other genres like hip hop, house, kwaito, pop music,” he added.
The one-off gig will also be supported by local and Club Euphoria resident Djs – Paul Da Prince, Slaughter camp and Dj Taku.
