Agra awards branches
In each region, branches were also awarded for their performances. In the central region, the top achiever was Karibib, followed by Windhoek in second place and Okahandja third. The northern branches performing the best were Outjo in first place, Otavi in second and Opuwo branch in third place. Mariental took first place in the south.
To qualify for the awards, a branch had to achieve the budgeted turnover and the budgeted gross profit for the period August 2011 to January 2013 for that specific branch. Net profit and net profit as a percentage of turnover of the branch, were considered to give branches of all sizes a chance to compete. Branches exceeding the budgeted stock loss percentage with 20%, and a total rating below a set value were not considered for the awards.
The annual two-day meeting of Agra branch managers provides an opportunity to assess the performance of Agra retail and wholesale division; discuss challenges and strategies for the road ahead and conduct team building activities. The meeting is attended by retail and wholesale branch managers, executive management and invited support staff from head office as well as staff from the livestock division.
A dinner, doubling as an award ceremony, concludes the event.
Special “Thank You” awards are given to show appreciation to nominated support staff and on a lighter note, “I Told You So” Awards are handed over to staff members who left Agra’s service and returned to Agra again.
