Baking for charity

Anne Mans (left) and Christine Venter of Radiowave 96.7 FM won N$10,000 for Hope For Life as part of the 2013 Bakpro Celebrity Bake-off hosted at the Namib Mills Bakery and Training Centre in Windhoek last Friday. “Hope For Life runs a pregnancy crisis centre and they support the Jackson’s Ridge Royal Family Kids’ Camp (RFKC) every year,” explained Anne. “The funds will go towards the RFKC specifically,” she said. Ian Collard (middle), Managing Director of Namib Mills, donated a further N$1000 to each of the other nominated charity organisations. They are: Friendly Haven; The Cat Protection Services of Namibia; the Kids’ Soup Kitchen in Ombili, Katutura; Stirrup Riding School in Okahandja; SPCA; One Love; Namibia National Association of the Deaf; Maerua Kinderhuis; Orange Babies and Hope Village.
