New Data Processing Centre

The Namibia Statistics Agency opened its Data Processing Centre in Windhoek. Situated in Suiderhof, the centre was officially inaugurated by Director General of National Planning Commission, Tom Alweendo on 21 February 2013. According to Dr. John Steytler, Statistician General of Namibia Statistics Agency , the centre has the capacity to scan 1.2 million forms per day, the counted number of population recorded during the 2011 Census.The centre will be used to scan and process data of the Labour Force Survey, which will now be conducted annually. Constructed in less than four months, the centre was funded through the Namibian- German Cooperation.
