Best talent goes to O&L
The Ohlthaver and List Group of Companies recently introduced another group of successful candidates of the 2013 Talent Attraction Programme (TAP).
TAP has been an annual programme at the Ohlthaver and List Group since 2008 and for the past 5 years it has been a success story. 33 committed young people have joined O&L over these years with 80% retention rate.
According to Roux-ché Locke, Group Manager: External Relations at O&L, the purpose of the Talent Attraction Programme is to ensure valuable on-the-job, internal and external development and work experience to enable the TAP participants to become competent and self-driven in their careers.
“Ohlthaver & List is serious about talent attraction and succession planning, and through this programme endeavours to develop the Talent Attraction participants into the future leaders of the O&L Group and even broader Namibia,” she said.
39 candidates have been completed the TAP programme to date.
She also said that the TAP programme has been beneficial to the candidates as it provides candidates the platform to grow and transform into future leaders and experts within the group. TAP candidates are exposed to many managerial or leadership positions through functional training in the project.
In 2013 another eight talented people joined O&L. Currently O&L employs about 5000 employees in total and is a very significant player in the Namibian economy.
