Windhoek: The Brady range of identification solutions for cable and wire was launched during a series of demonstrations over two days in Windhoek. The demonstrations were made to players in the IT and Telecommunications industries, electrical engineers and installers of technical equipment. Mr Paulo Neves Business Development Manager for Brady in Southern Africa and SADC Region said  “Brady mobile printers offer a unique range of identification and labelling solutions that is ideal for the Namibian environment whether they are used indoors, outdoors, underground or exposed to extreme temperatures, high moisture environments or very dry weather conditions.”
Philip Galliano, of DB Space and distributor of the Brady range of labelling solutions in Namibia has already sold a few of the handheld devices. DB Space stocks the full range of consumables for the three different printers on the market. “These mobile printers are easy to use, are durable for those who use them on site but most importantly, the printed label will not smudge or rub off or even detach from the cable or wire. The product is truly ideal for industrial identification”, he said.
The Brady mobile range of printers comes in three different models, the BMP21, BMP51 and BMP71. The BMP21 and BMP51 are ideal for technicians who are working on site and doing their labelling as they progress with installations. With this in mind, these models have an optional magnetic plate that can be attached to the back of the printer, transforming it into a wall mounted unit for easy punching, printing and cutting of labels.
The BMP21, an entry level label printer, produces continuous labels while the BMP51 has interchangeable cartridges which house the printer ink and label in one single unit. Adding a new label size is as easy as removing the cartridge and inserting a different cartridge with the desired label size. Galliano said, “Once a cartridge is changed, the machine automatically tells you which size label has just been inserted and depending on how much information is to be added to the label, the information is automatically adjusted to stay within the print area of the label, whether it’s a barcode and a series of numbers or just the barcode. The print area is always maximised while containing all the relevant information.”
The BMP51 and BMP71 machines have rechargeable batteries and have a minimum of 8 hours of battery life once fully charged. The Brady range of mobile printers has a 1 year warranty and should clients ever need additional help and advice, DB Space offers first line product support while Brady also operates a technical support help line.
