This year’s edition of Namibia’s only trade fair that provides education, fun and entertainment to the entire family was launched this week.
The 5th Bank Windhoek Kidz Fun Fair and Family Expo, organised in collaboration with Limelight Event Marketing, will take place during the first weekend of November at the SKW Sports Grounds in Olympia, Windhoek. Preparation for this major event for families, starts early in the year to ensure it reaches a wide audience before the indicated date towards the end of the year.
The change of the date from August to November offers a number of exciting new opportunities for innovation and allows the organisers and exhibitors to introduce new concepts and activities to the expo, such as the inclusion of outdoor water activities and an opportunity for early Christmas shopping.  However, the well-established and popular activities, such as the Bank Windhoek Arts Festival and Bank Windhoek Sports areas, will again feature at the expo.
The new name of the trade fair has also been introduced and the Bank Windhoek Kidz Fun Fair will now be known as the Bank Windhoek Kidz Fun Fair and Family Expo. This name change was necessary to reflect that the event not only caters for children, but rather for the whole family. Over the years the Kidz Fun Fair has been moving away from the concept of a fun fair to a fully-fledged expo with high quality exhibitors, quality entertainment and an educational talk program.
Last year’s Bank Windhoek Kidz Fun Fair and Family Expo was a huge success and recorded a turnout of 13000 visitors over one and a half days. Besides the fun, education and entertainment is on offer at the 2013 expo. Finalists of the Bank Windhoek BizzKidz competition will once again get the opportunity to showcase their products and business skills at the Kidz Fun Fair and Family Expo.
Last year’s overall winner was Pascal Marggraff, from Deutsche Höhere Privatschule (DHPS) Windhoek, who walked away with N$5000, plus an additional N$5000 for his school. Pascal made fire lighting briquettes from recycled newspapers.
“We are happy to have a partner in Bank Windhoek that is still committed to the Bank Windhoek Kidz Fun Fair and Family Expo after five years of partnership. The event is indeed a success and this is because of the exciting and new ideas that we bring to the table every year. This year will be no exception as we promise parents and children to expect even more”, said Gabriela Raith, Managing Director of Limelight Event Marketing.
