When a lawyer smiles

The President of the Law Society, Adv Deidre Sauls (left) with the Honourable Judge President, Justice Petrus Damaseb at the official opening of the 2013 High Court legal year on Wednesday. In her speech, Adv Sauls explained the two target arenas for the Law Society: Public and Professional Interest and Legal Practise. In brief, the former deals with the outreach components of the Society. This is in terms of ethical standards of lawyers, compliance with the Legal Practitioners Act, and also scholarship funds for would-be law students.
