New mixed talent reality show

A new local talent reality show wants to find and promote Namibia’s best performers and entertainers across a range of disciplines. The show follows the pattern of similar reality shows for instance, the hugely popular America’s got Talent series in the USA. The first series is sponsored by Trustco. The prize money for eventual best performer is a whopping N$250,000 and even double this, if the winner is a client of Legal Shield, IOL, Trustco Finance, or a Trustco shareholder.
The show forms an important element in the 21st year celebrations of Trustco.
“Trustco’s Star Performer” Talent competition will be broadcast live on NBC and will showcase talent such as drama, vocal, instrumental music, dance, modelling, beauty pageants for males and females, circus acts, performing arts groups, fashion design and a variety of other acts.
Trustco’s Star Performer television crew, judges and staff will travel nationwide to seek out the best talent Namibia can offer! International talent scout Kim Myers, from the USA will also be part of the audition process. Countrywide auditions will take place between 14 February and 16 March 2013 in the following towns; Outjo, Ongwediva, Tsumeb, Rundu, Windhoek, Keetmanshoop, Stampriet, Mariental, Otjiwarongo, Karibib, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund and Gobabis.
The overall winner, category winners and runner-ups in all categories will be promoted on the Trustco’s Star Performer Website and in the Informanté. This competition will provide a platform and the beginning of a database for new emerging performers, to be noticed and viewed by other established artists, event managers, television stations, film production companies, radio stations and the entertainment and media industries for bookings.
Closing date for entries will be 9 February 2013 and no late entries will be accepted.
Enter online at www.be-a-star-performer.com or complete an Entry Form at any Trustco office. The helplines will also be able to answer any questions about the entry and registration process. The entry fee is N$ 100.00 per item entered, per entrant. Trustco Shareholders, paid-up Shield members, active IOL students, active Trustco Finance clients and their dependants may enter 2 items free of charge to the value of N$200.00. All entrants will be listed on an Audition List in their respective audition town.
