Suzy’s stolen moments

United States-based Namibian-born saxophone maestro, Suzy Eises is back in the country and has already rocked local stages. The saxophonist and her band will perform at the Goethe Centre on Sunday, 09 December. The 22-year old jazz artist fell in love with jazz when she took part in a jazz festival in Grahamstown during her high school days. She also performed at the Harare Files which is a world-class one-person theatre production. In that show she highlighted the perils of squatter camp existence in Harare.
Suzy attended a one-year music course at the London Centre of Contemporary Music between 2009 and 2010. Suzy has worked with a lot of local and international artists such as South African  DJ, Groove Candi and features on her debut track, ‘I decided’. She performed at last year’s Old Mutual Jazz Encounters and shared the stage with South African artists Jimmy Dludlu and Simphiwe Dana. We last saw the saxophonist perform at the Windhoek Showgrounds where she was an opening act for South African house sensation, Mi Casa.
For Sunday’s show, the doors open at 20:00. Tickets to see the sultry saxophonist perform are N$55 in advance(at the Goethe Centre) and N$65 at the door. The show is a must-see so don’t miss it.
