Arandis gears for investment conference

The Arandis Town Council will next year host a two-day investment conference expected to boost the town’s profile as an investment hub.
The Arandis Investment Conference will be hosted together with the Mineral, Mining and Energy Expo  from 25 to 27 April 2013 at the Namibia Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT) under the theme: “ Arandis Finding Financial Solutions for Development Initiatives.”
The conference will focus on the investment potential that Arandis holds due to its strategic geographical location. According to Florida Husselmann, Chief Executive Officer of Arandis Town, the conference is organised with the intention to attract potential investors, exhibitors, corporates and the public at large to invest in the town. Organisers expect 150 participants and 90 exhibitors.
Benefits of the conference and expo include creating new job opportunities and a platform for networking and exchange of knowledge as well as promoting valuable assets of the region such as fishing, mining, marine and other resources, amongst others.
Speaking at the launch of the conference in the capital this week, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Tjekero Tweya said Government believes that investments especially in the mining sector are key fundamentals to economic growth.
”Therefore an investment conference of this nature is an important opportunity to the town of Arandis to secure investment that can create sustainable employment opportunities to the community of Arandis and the Erongo Region,” he said.
Daniel Muhuura, Mayor of Arandis said the overriding objective of the upcoming Conference and first ever international Mineral, Mining and Energy Expo is to hightlight to potential investors that Arandis is ready and willing to take on any challenges.
