Child Helpline TV advert launched.
Lifeline/Childline this week launched its 116 television advert.
The 30 second advert made its debut on One Africa television on 23 November. According to a statement by Lifeline/Childline Namibia, up to 2500 children per month call the number 116 during peak times from all corners of the country.
116 is a national Child Helpline operated by the organisation, which enables children to call for free to report problems. An estimated 10% of all calls turn into counselling sessions in which serious issues such as child abuse, domestic violence, bullying at school, educational problems or family issues are dealt with.
Childline said with the finalisation of the TV advert they are now able to further promote their 116 SMS line.
