Huge turn out at party for elderly

The Walvis Bay municipality recently held a Christmas Party for the town’s elderly residents. The party launched 15 years ago and has since become an annual event. Derek Klazen, mayor of Walvis Bay, thanked the elderly for their contribution to the development of the town. “This occasion gives us the opportunity to honour and thank you. Another important reason for gathering here is for us to socialise with one another, without any barriers whatsoever. Today we forget about our individual backgrounds, or which part of town we are from. We are simply here to enjoy each other’s company, in a true Christmas spirit,” he said.
