A Namibian archer takes aim during the World Championships in Argentina

Namibian Archers recently took part in the World Field Archery Championships that were held in Miramar, Argentina.
A team of twelve Archers  participated in the five-day event with compound bows in five categories that include the Adult Male Bow Hunter Unlimited event, the Adult Male Freestyle Unlimited event, the Junior Male Bow Hunter Unlimited event, the Junior Male Freestyle Unlimited event and the Adult Female Freestyle Unlimited event.
Get van der Merwe won a bronze medal in the Adult Male Freestyle Unlimited event while Henk van den Berg came fourth in the same event. Piere Chamberlain also won silver in the Junior Male Bow Hunter Unlimited event.
Strong competition from South Africa and Australia saw Ruan van Staaden clinching fifth place in the Junior Male Freestyle Unlimited event while Joubert Snyman came sixth and Hendrik van Eeden was in seventh place.

Gúnther Woortman was also in seventh place in the Adult Male Freestyle Unlimited event while Rene Chamberlain was in eighth place in the Adult Male Bow Hunter Unlimited event.
Meanwhile, the Build-It SKW Year-end Shoot will take place this Saturday. All Archers are invited to participate.
