Dundee Precious Metals improves the living standards of Tsumeb’s senior citizens

Senior citizens from Nomstsoub and the Palm Old Age Home received donations of goods valued at N$100,000 from Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb recently.

The donated items include fridges, digital satellite television decoders, lawn mowers, pots and stoves all of which will go towards capacity building for senior citizens and improvement of the living standards of senior citizens in the Tsumeb area as well as addressing various needs identified by the two institutions.

The recipients expressed their gratitude to Dundee and President Hage Geingob’s Harambee Prosperity Plan for creating an environment where the private sector and other partners in development are promoted to participate in various ways.

“I would like to thank God, for making it possible for Dundee to donate to us. They are the backbone of Tsumeb in many ways. Thank you for meeting the needs of even the elderly in our community, be blessed,” said Valerie Oberholster, The Palm Old Age Home Management Committee Member.

Lovisa Iiyambo from the Nomstsoub Old Age Management Committee thanked Dundee for their continuous support and commended them for all the great work they have done for Tsumeb and the Namibian nation.

“At Dundee we focus on a positive impact and believe that collaborative efforts such as donations at all levels of the community will benefit, aid and support long term capacity building of a sustainable future for our communities. We are aware of the NDP 5 objectives, the input required from the private sector and as Namibia’s development partners Dundee will hold hands and contribute to the realization of our national objectives as stated in the NDP5,” said Elizabeth Mutota, Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb Events Coordinator.
