India Namibia relations on a tangent for more results this year

Members of the Indian community joined the Indian High Commissioner, HE Kumar Tuhin, last week for a special celebratory day to mark the 69th anniversary of the founding of India as an independent republic.

The Indian independence day started with raising the flag at the High Commission in Klein Windhoek, followed by the High Commissioner conveying a special message from the Indian President to all expats living in Namibia.

Later in the day, the staff of the High Commission received Namibian dignitaries and other member of the Diplomatic Corps at a grand reception in the Safari Court with the Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Hon Samuel Ankama representing Namibia as main guest.

High Commissioner Tuhin highlighted the continued friendly and strong relations between India and Namibia, marked by trust and mutual understanding. He recalled the landmark visit of the Indian President to Namibia in June 2016, which laid a strong foundation for further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in several areas

The High Commissioner said bilateral exchanges will increase this year in various social and economic sectors, where the Indian Government has made significant contributions over the past few years.
