The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) will be running a spay campaign in  Katutura and Khomasdal to control stray dogs and cats in the area. The spay campaign, which is expected to take place in December 2012, is sponsored by Bank Windhoek. The donation is part of the N$120,000 that was raised through the Bank Windhoek Golf Day in Aid of Welfare held in September at the Windhoek Country Club. Approximately 200 dogs and cats are expected to be spayed during the campaign. “If it wasn’t for this sponsorship, the SPCA would not have been able to carry out this exercise as we have been trying to raise funds for a long time” said Hilary du Plessis, manager of the SPCA.
