
Spanish duo to join Erna Chimu on stage at Nam-Spanish jazz concert

Songtress, Erna Chimu’s Band and Spanish duo consisting of Albert Bello and Oriol Sana will perform at Jazz Concert to be held at the Warehouse Theatre on 29 November. Entrace will be free and the purpose of the event is to foster cultural exchanges between the two country’s.
Chimu is an Afro Jazz and traditional singer whose second studio album, “Hai Serute” won her the NAMA 2014 Awards in three categories. She has performed at various occasions throughout Namibia and at the Night of Festivals in Lechester United Kingdom. Erna will be performing with her band, consisting of Sam Batola (guitarist), Jean Pierre Ntsika (bass guitarist), Gerson Doeseb (keyboard) and Lebohang Mothabeng.
Albert Bello is a guitarist who has recorded over 15 albums as a solo artist or as part of a group. He is the Director and the main driving force behind the first manouche jazz, also know as gypsy jazz, festival in Spain. He is currently the President of the Association of Musicians and Fans of Manouche Jazz.
Oriol Sana who plays the violin has a long experience in the classical music field, having participated in various symphonic orchestras, concert halls and at numerous music festivals in Europe and the USA. He has recorded more than 50 albums.
During their visit to Namibia the duo will present “Boston Bridges”, an album published in 2016 featuring six pieces by Albert Bello and three other classic manouche jazz songs.
