Celebrated choir conductor and musician, Ernst van Biljon has been invited again, as a judge for a major international choir competition early November in China.
Van Biljon has been asked to adjudicate at the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships in Guangzhou, running from 8 to 13 November.
Now retired, Van Biljon established his sound reputation through the many international awards won by the famous Cantare Audire choir, conducted by the maestro for many years.
The choir competition takes place under the auspices of “Musica Mundi / Interkultur”, an international organisation that organises annual choir competitions worldwide, as well as the bi-annual World Choir Games.
Van Biljon was on the panel of judges at the World Choir Games in Xiamen, China, in 2006, as well as in Graz, Austria, in 2008.
In 2010 he did Namibia proud by winning two silver and one gold medal with “Voices of Namibia” at the World Choir Games in Shaoxing, China.
He has successfully represented Namibia abroad on a number of occasions with Cantare Audire and the National Youth Choir of Namibia.
