FNCC to jet winners to France

The Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) announced the winners of the ‘FNCC flies you to France’ competition which was launched at the beginning of October, which offered local artists as well as learners of French the opportunity to fly to France.

The winners of the competition are Elia Sangunji, Sean K and Elize Van Huyssteen, who are set to travel to France anytime between end of November 2017 and September 2018.

The criteria used for this selection was the quality of the project, the motivation of the applicant, the use of French counterparts to facilitate the ties between two countries, the communication plan of the candidate on his trip, the overall budget as well as the relevance of the project.

There was an unexpected twist in deciding the winners, who were only supposed to be two,but in the end three winners were chosen.

Prizes for the other selected finalists include a dinner for two from chef Andreas Ikukutu, a concert opportunity at FNCC from Mathew “Brain the Tool”, and an exhibition of artworks at FNCC from Ngavee Kambezunda.

The public can follow the winners adventures on FNCC’s Facebook and Instagram where they will be updating Namibia on their French experiences.

FNCC partnered with the French Embassy in Namibia, Fresh FM and Air France donated the plane tickets.
