Meatco procures 324 cattle at Okakarara permit day

Meatco’s permit day initiative for communal areas has gained momentum and was recently held at the Okakarara auction kraal, where 324 head of cattle were procured.

This is a decrease from the 835 head of cattle that were procured during May in Okakarara. The regular permit days offered to communal farmers’ main objective is to buy cattle from these farmers for Meatco’s export markets at the Annasruh Feedlot.

“Meatco thanks all the farmers who responded to our call and brought their cattle for marketing. We have established a good working relationship with the Okakarara Farmers Association who facilitated the day for us,” Meatco said.
