Small livestock farmers honoured at annual Agricultural Show

Keetmanshoop small livestock farmer, Stephan Botes scooped most of the available awards which included the ultimate award, Champion of Champions Trophy in the interbreed category at the Windhoek Industrial and Agricultural Show last week.

The small livestock section awards was hosted in collaboration with Feedmaster and the Namibia Meat Board.

Second time entrant, Dirkie van der Merwe, a grade nine learner from Privaatskool Elnatan in Stampriet, was crowned the breeder of champions small Stock. This development was an elevation for him as last year he only came in second place.

Local, bank, Bank Windhoek awarded the winners of the small livestock section and the bank’s communication practitioner for stakeholder engagement, Sanet de Waal re-assured the farmers that the bank would continue to support hard work and determination.
