Merits in basketball

The Basketball Artists School (BAS) in Katutura this week rewarded their children for good performance. The school is a collaboration of the German non-profit organisation ISIBINDI and the Namibian Basketball Federation, supported by the German Basketball Federation, the German Olympic Sports Confederation and the German Federal Foreign Office. The vision is to empower and to develop less-privileged children to attain a better perspective on life, following the motto “Education First – Basketball Second”. The school’s values are Reliability, Responsibility, Commitment, Hard Work, Quality and Integrity. Although all children are still at primary school, the girls team in 2012 sensationally won the Khomas high-school league. Here the children pose with their volunteer teachers.
