Diplomatic spouses to raise funds for the children

The Association of Diplomatic Spouses (ADS) will host a gala dinner on 15 September at the Safari Court Hotel. Tickets for the dinner will cost for N$450, while raffle tickets are pegged at N$50.

This year ADS is focusing its efforts on raising funds for child welfare. ADS was formed in 1990 as a way for the diplomatic community to support the newly independent Namibia.

As part of the entertainment for the night a fashion show will be held showcasing traditional dresses from the different countries that will be participating. There will also be live music by Bongani, a Song Night Ambassador while Deejay Baggio will keep the guest entertained and dancing the night away.

Raffle prizes include two flight tickets to any of Air Namibia destination around the world, 2 TAAG Airlines tickets to various destinations in Africa, a Nakara ostrich leather handbag, a Take Note Keyboard for music enthusiasts, various vouchers from NWR, Gondwana Collection, Safari Court Hotel, Hilton and many others.

There will also be many other prizes from the embassies and High Commissions such as Angola, India, Indonesia and Malaysia to name a few.

The event will be an opportunity for the diplomatic community and the public to come together in celebration of culture, while also raising funds.

Meanwhile, since the organisation started it has raised funds for a variety of charitable organisations on themes such as HIV/AIDS assistance and prevention of gender violence
