Nekundi appointed as new Marketing Manager at blue bank

Standard Bank recently appointed Sindano Nekundi as the new Marketing Manager of Corporate and Investment Banking and Business Banking.

Having been a strategic marketing professional for the past 8 years including serving 4 years within the banking industry, Nekundi looks forward to the challenge that his new role presents at the Bank.

“I feel this is a great step in the right direction for my marketing career. I aim to make a lasting and visual difference as well as helping to ensure that marketing operations are optimized. I look forward to the challenge of working with our marketing team in further strengthening our brand together with the assistance of our Standard Bank family. This is a new position in the bank with a focus on business and corporate marketing and I’m looking forward to building this capacity for Standard Bank,” said Nekundi.

In his new role Nekundi is tasked with developing and implementing the Corporate & Investment Banking and Business Banking marketing and communication strategy and activities, as well as manage and execute their campaigns, events and projects and provide specialist advice.

Academically Nekundi obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with double majors in Economics and Business Management from the University of South Africa (UNISA). He also holds a Certificate in Project Management and a Certificate in Financial Performance, Measurement and Control from UNISA and a certificate in Strategic Marketing from the VEGA brand school. He is currently registered for a postgraduate degree, Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management also through UNISA.

Key highlights of his professional career include successfully launching and managing the marketing for First National Bank (FNB) Business and RMB (Rand Merchant Bank) Namibia, FNB Holdings’ Corporate & Investment Banking arm. He also marketed FNB Namibia’s Commercial, Tourism, Agri-Business and SME sectors as well as the expertise of the Public Sector Banking (PSB) and Commercial Property Finance (CPF) divisions.

In addition, Nekundi was also a key member of the RMB CSI Committee mostly involved in building awareness around its CSI activities. He also worked in the advertising sector for 2 top advertising agencies as a Brand Strategist and an Accounts Manager, working on over 17 accounts over 4 years including rebranding companies such as Telecom Namibia, Namibia Post Limited, Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia, NAMFISA, Erongo Red and Namibia Blood Transfusion Services, amongst others.

Nekundi joined Standard Bank as from 1 August 2017.
