Namport to host African ports and maritime conference

The Port Management Association of Eastern and Southern Africa (PMAESA) in conjunction with the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) will host the 37th annual biennial African Ports and Maritime Conference in Swakopmund from 27 – 30 November 2011.
The conference which will be held under the theme, ‘Ports & Logistics: A Vision for Future Integration’, will be officially opened by Erkki Nghimtina, Minister of Works and Transport at the Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre.
A wide range of speakers from African ports, regional economic commissions, international organisations and development partners will be in attendance to brainstorm on the challenges facing the industry, following the global economic recession.
Delegates from all over Eastern and Southern Africa are expected to attend the three day conference.
PMAESA consists of 27 member states and will likely bring together about 250 delegates and exhibitors from around the globe.
