MTC plans to set up 524 new network sites

Through its 081Every1 project which was launched last month, Mobile telecommunications giant, MTC plans to set up 524 network sites driven to a 100% population density network coverage upon completion.

The company said this at the tender information session which was held this week and attended by close to 100 companies. The information session is a platform granted to prospect applicants to ask questions and clarity pertaining the tender applications process.

The companies acting chief executive officer, Thinus Smit highlighted that the N$1.1 billion project will have many tenders issued with MTC looking at Namibian companies to do the job.

We look forward to partner with competent Namibian companies which, in line with MTC’s specification, will supply services such as ground clearing services, to tower supply and design, yard building, civil work, antenna mounting, solar and grid battery power supply,” MTC’s Transmission Manager, Ludwig Heinrich Tjitandi said.

The company stated that it is re-investing in the country’s economy, adding that the 081Every1 will create crucial  job opportunities especially given the current fiscal standing.
