2nd IPM convention kicks off next week

The 2nd Annual Institute of People’s Management Convention is set to start next week with a host of local and international speakers ready to engage the delegates on various HR and business leadership topics.
According to the IPM President, Tim Ekandjo, the IPM Convention gives HR and business leaders the platform to discuss issues of national concern and development.
“This year’s IPM Convention will be even better and more delegates are expected to attend. The topics that most delegates are looking forward to are the discussion on the SOE remuneration and caps and challenges associated with the salary scales and it will be presented by the PS in the Office of the Prime Minister. Another exciting topic for both HR and business leaders is the recent changes to the Labour Act and its implications on business,” said Ekandjo.
The Convention opens on Monday, 24 September at 08h00 while the exhibition hall will officially open at 15h00 on the same day. Delegates can visit the exhibition hall and at the same time register for the Convention which officially kicks off the next day, 25 September at 08h00.
For the very first time there will be an IPM Excellence Award Gala Dinner starting at 19h00 onTuesday evening where various awards will be given. The keynote address at the IPM Excellence Gala Dinner will be done by Right Hon Prime Minister and Patron of IPM Namibia, Nahas Angula
A total of 20 local and international speakers will grace the 2nd IPM Annual Convention. MTC is the platinum sponsor of IPM Namibia while Shell Namibia is the silver sponsor. The Gold sponsorship category remains open.
The IPM Convention ends on the 26th September 2012.
