The ultimate offroad experience – if you can afford it

The ultimate offroad experience – if you can afford it

A band of adventurers from all over the world will arrive in Namibia early October for the offroad experience of a life time, traversing the country in a special group of dedicated all-new Land Rover Discoveries.

Land Rover South Africa announced last week it has launched the unique adventure travel experience to promote the new Discovery, but there is one catch, the trip carries a heavy price tag, so only the more privileged will have the opportunity of a guided exploration of Namibia’s natural beauty.

The eight-day Land Rover Namibia Adventure takes in some of the finest scenery and wildlife which starts when guests get to know the new Discovery with a briefing from a Land Rover Experience instructor before setting off to a bush lodge to meet fellow explorers and begin their journey. Over the next week and a bit, the travellers will see and feel nature as they have never imagined it before.

The Namibia Adventure departs on 14 October 2017 and costs €4,950 per person (approximately R72,000), based on two people sharing. It includes all Land Rover driving activities, accommodation, meals and airport transfers.

“Adventure plays a key part in what makes for an exhilarating drive – whether it be an iconic road trip or on the road-less-travelled,” said Mark Cameron, Global Experiential Marketing Director at Jaguar Land Rover. “To do this from behind the wheel of the all-new Discovery makes it unique. These self-drive adventures will offer an exceptional driving experience where our customers will get the chance to push the vehicle to its limits and enjoy unforgettable surroundings.”

The Land Rover Experience Adventure Travel Namibia programme is operated by Agentur für Promotion und Service GmbH operating as Land Rover Experience Germany, who are licensed and authorised by Jaguar Land Rover.

The driving is done independently with a maximum vehicle group size of two. A Land Rover Experience instructor is on hand to provide guidance and support.

The all-new Discovery goes on sale in southern Africa on 21 July, and the cheapest derivative starts at a price tage around one million Namibia dollar.
