Bank initiative helps children fight off the cold weather

Forty school going children from 7de Laan Otjomuise settlement will not have to face the terrible winter morning as they received winter school clothes from a local banking institute.

FNB Namibia through their project initiative dubbed FNB Operations managed to raise a grand total of N$7,000 which they used to purchase the clothing for the children who attend Otjomuise Primary School.

Janine Van Rooi, Support Co-ordinator at FNB Shared Services said the smiles and joy of the children was a pleasure to behold. “We are so grateful that we are in a position to help and the joy experienced by the children makes it all worthwhile,” she added.

“We encourage our staff to participate voluntarily in our staff volunteer programmes and we are proud of the Operations Department for pro-actively making a difference in the lives of the community we operate in,” said Revonia Kahivere, Corporate Social Investment Management at FNB Namibia.

The FNB Namibia Foundation Trust doubled up the contribution from the FNB Operation to make an even greater impact in the communities.
