Tight group, best shot
In conditions that can only be described as challenging, Heiko Meyer (left) recently came out the top shot in Safari Den’s annual freestyle shooting competition. He achieved a grouping of 12mm, competing against 9 shooters in the open category, in very windy and dusty conditions. Second in the open category was Ricardo Demmel with a grouping of 13,48mm while Marco Pfeiffer of Felseneck was third with a grouping of 16,18mm. In the ladies category, Silke Mostert took the laurels with a grouping of 15,33mm and Annemarie van Dyk was second. Babette Taljaard, a 14 year old learner of Tsumeb Gimnasium, was the best junior (u/16) shot. Handing Meyer his trophy is Andre van Eck, Safari Den’s manager.
