Bank honours local entertainment artists

Following the successful hosting of the 2017 Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) in April, Standard Bank last week met its end of the deal by awarding N$250,000 to the three category winners it sponsored.

The bank which sponsors the awards annually, this year sponsored three categories namely: Best Pan African Artist of the Year, Best Group Duo and Best Traditional.

The winners are Cassper Nyovest for the Pan African Artist of the Year, House Guru Gang for the Best Group/Duo category and Christmas featuring Kamati for Best Traditional category.

Standard Bank is pleased to be part of this local music spectacle that is geared towards promoting and recognizing the talent that creates the soundtrack of our lives. Music transcends culture, belief, age, and it unifies through storytelling and lingers in the fibre of our existence. I am therefore proud that we were able to sponsor a category that not only honoured local artistes but also international ones. Congratulations to all our winners and we wish you many more prosperous years in the industry,” Standard Bank’s Acting Head of Marketing Sigrid Tjijorokisa said at the NAMAs Prize Giving ceremony, which was held at the Maerua Rooftop.
