As part of their Corporate Social Investment to charitable organisations, Standard Bank Namibia last week handed a donation of N$100,000 to the San Development Trust and N$50,000 to the National Alliance for Improved Nutrition, an organisation that caters for the poor scavenging at dump sites.
Speaking at the event, the bank’s Chief Executive, Mpumzi Pupuma said “As a corporate financial company, Standard Bank Namibia remains committed to corporate social investment that is geared towards enhancing the lives and dignity of vulnerable Namibian societies. In developing disadvantaged groups, Standard Bank Namibia strives to assist government in achieving its developmental goals of Vision 2030 and NDP4.”
The San Development Trust’s contribution is part and parcel of the bank’s annual CSI initiatives while the donation to NAFINU came from the bank’s Vehicle and Asset Finance Department. The funds are the proceeds from the gate fees generated through the Standard Bank Auto Show held last month.
