Classic Winter Beach volleyball series continues

The third Timeout Beach Series 2017 event of the year, the Retirement Fund Solutions Winter Classic 2017, will take place at DTS Beach Arena on 17 June.

According to the organisers the deadline for entries for this tournament will be on Thursday 15 June.

The event will see the top local beach volleyball athletes taking part, including the winner of the first Timeout Series event in April; Mixed Experienced Champion Rosi Hennes, U19’s World Championship participants; Fabian Pfeifer, Daniel Pfeifer & Michi Böhringer.

The last Timeout Beach Series 2017 event, the Tropizone Aqua Kalahari Open 2017 that took part on Tivoli Southern Sky Guest Farm in May, saw Christian Schulze and James Verrinder dominate the field in the experienced category clinching the gold.

In the social category Niklas Nolten and Andriko Böhringer also played great volleyball to finish on top of the podium with Dorle Verrinder and Karin Curschmann taking the boys to 3 sets in the final, finishing second. Third place went to Christian and Jonathan.

Meanwhile the overall standing for Men and Women for the Timeout Beach Series 2017 so far are:
Ladies Overall Points after 2 events: 1st – Rosi Hennes, 384 points; 2nd – Carmen Curschmann, 300 points and 3rd – Mich Böhringer, 264 points.

Men’s Overall Points after 2 events: 1st- Heiko Proir, 432 points; 2nd – James Verrinder, 384 points and 3rd – Christian Schulze, 240 points.

Meanwhile as for the sponsorship, Retirement Fund Solutions provided N$10,000 for this weekend’s tournament.
