Around 350 participants to take part in Xtrail series

Competitive  health fanatics are set to take on the trail routes at farm Godeis in the Khomas Hochland this weekend as the Standard Bank Xtrail Series gets underway.

OTB Sports who is the event organiser said they are expecting approximately 350 participants for the curtain raiser in the new Xtrail series.

“Participants from prior years were very complimentary of the trail routes on the farm and the variety the trails offered them and the team format also adds a fun and festive element where the top three best dressed will all receive OTB vouchers,” they said.

The K-H Xtrail offers participants the option of a 7 km or 16 km trail and participants need to compete in teams of 2 or 3 people. Participants can run or walk the routes, which are stunning with beautiful views across the Hochland Mountains and wind through rugged river beds, up and down some incredible mountains and through impressive gorges.

The 16km event will start at 9:00 and the 7km at 9:30 at Farm Godeis which is 70km west of Windhoek. All details and entries can be found online at www.otbsport.com.

Meanwhile, the second trail series will take place at Avis Dam on 9 July followed by the third and final trail of the series set to take place in Swakopmund on 21 October.
