PSG’s van Rensburg again receives top honours as best securities wealth manager

Brian van Rensburg (right) of local stockbrokers PSG Namibia, has been named the company’s Wealth Manager: Securities of the Year. He received this accolade from the Chief Executive of PSG Konsult in South Africa, Francois Gouws (left) at their annual PSG conference at Sun City last week.

Van Rensburg has also won this award for the preceding two years.

PSG is a diversified financial services group listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange and dual listed on the Namibian Stock Exchange.

“PSG has the largest network of independent financial, insurance, healthcare and employee benefits advisers in Southern Africa, which means this award is a significant achievement,” said Dan Hugo, Chief Executive of Distribution at PSG. As at end February 2017, the total number of advisers within the PSG network stood at 744, located in 211 local offices throughout South Africa and Namibia, as well as one office in Mauritius.

The Wealth Manager: Securities of the Year award is based on quality and professionalism, which looks at client interaction, the level of education and skills of staff, practice management and compliance. It further considers the level of embracing the PSG strategy, which entails being a strong brand ambassador and supporting the key initiatives of the firm and its profitability, in terms of revenue growth as well as the total value of assets and premiums under administration and/or management.

In 1996 van Rensburg joined Huysamer and Stals in Windhoek as an equity analyst and economist. After qualifying as a member of the Namibian Stock Exchange and the South African Institute of Stockbrokers, he moved into stockbroking and portfolio management. The PSG Windhoek office was established in 2001 after a buyout by the Namibian management and the South African PSG.
