Established in 2010, the Young Feminist Movement is the brain child of Florence /Khaxas, a feminist and queer rights activist striving for change and women empowerment within societies.
/Khaxas who hails from the Erongo Region says the whole idea behind the movement is to reach out to women from all over the country.
“We want to raise consciousness on women rights issues as well as hear their struggles and advocate for them. We have discovered that there is a need to empower women, especially those from the rural and urban informal sectors.”
/Khaxas says the aim of the movement is to advocate for vulnerable women, support and include women from all spheres of life.

“We are an all inclusive movement, we focus on young women, whether they are lesbian, straight or single mothers, we want to document them and educate them on their rights.”
