The NDF volleybal men’s team on a roll

The Bank Windhoek Volleyball League continued last weekend with huge crowds turning out for the games in Windhoek and Grootfontein.
Despite some teams travelling more than 500km to the venues, all 10 games started on time.
In the Ladies League games played in Grootfontein, Khomas Nampol (KNVC) won their matches against their police counterparts in the north, Oshikoto Nampol (ONVC), as well as Eleven Warriors VC (EWVC).
KKPVC lost their game against RVC 3:1, and continued with their lacklustre performance in the second game against DTS. Luck was not on KKPVC’s side as one of their ladies had to abandon play after suffering a twisted leg in the third set against DTS, and they eventually lost the game 2:3.
Oshikoto VC from Tsumeb improved their play, but lost both their games against DTS and KNVC, while Revivals were happy to win both games against Eleven Warriors. Revivals now hold second spot on the league standing.
In the men’s league games played in Windhoek, the NDF team continued their clean record after winning both their games against Rehoboth VC (RHVC) and UNAM last weekend. The men in uniform had an easy game against the Rehoboth team as they won the game comfortably with 3 sets to 0, but had a tough game against the student team and gave them a set in the process.
The NDF team won the first set, but Unam came back to win the second set. However, NDF managed to win the third and fourth sets, making them the unbeaten team since the beginning of the 2012 season.
In other matches, the DTS team beat RHVC 3 sets to 0. RHVC tried to fight back especially in the second set, but they could not stop the youthful team of DTS and lost that set 26:28. Even though DTS showed some good skills, they lost their game against Unam 3 sets to 0.
