Deloitte has appointed Junius Mungunda to Regional Managing Partner for the Deloitte Southern Corridor member firms which includes Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Mungunda, who is the Managing Partner of Deloitte Namibia, retains his current role in addition to helping Deloitte to distinguish itself in the Southern Corridor region.
This aligns with the firm‘s continued aspiration to be an increasingly borderless firm in Africa and globally.
A Chartered Accountant in Namibia and South Africa, he has been with Deloitte for over 17 years. Joining as a trainee accountant in 1996 in the Windhoek office, he then served as an Audit manager and then audit partner in the Southern African firm for 12 years and was appointed Managing Partner of the Namibian firm in 2007.
“I am convinced that Junius’ depth of experience and collaborative leadership will certainly go a long way to ensuring a balance between local market opportunities, priorities and strategies at member firm level while co-ordinating regional strategies and priorities,” said Lwazi Bam, Chief Executive of Deloitte Southern Africa.
Mungunda said that he looks forward to this next challenge of his career.
