Sparks to fly at ‘Volleyball for All’ slated for weekend

For the 34th time in succession, the Windhoek Draught DTS Volleyball For All will take place this Saturday, 4 February 2017 at the DTS club in Olympia.

Heiko Kesselmann from DTS said that the yearly event on the local sports calendar received once again an influx of entries. This time around the tournament will only have mixed teams participating at the event as the men’s category has been removed from the games.

With a maximum of 240 teams allowed to participate in the Volleyball For All, we have already exceeded this limit in the number of entries, with many hopeful teams on a waiting list, should other teams fail to successfully complete the registration process,” Kesselmann said, adding that Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) continued its commitment through the premium beer brand Windhoek Draught as main sponsor of the event.

NBL Manager for events and sponsorship, Danie Keulder emphasised Windhoek Draught’s dedication to the Volleyball for All. “Windhoek Draught is extremely proud to be associated with the annual Windhoek Draught DTS Volleyball for All. This event is a true reflection of team spirit and passion – something we at NBL highly embrace. It also highlights the importance of having fun, and relaxing.”

DTS Chairperson, Werner Gouws said that the DTS Executive Committee is pleased by the NBL, not only the generous long-standing sponsorship over the past years, but also extremely grateful for the administration, logistical and marketing support of the event as numerous corporates that make use of this event for team building and social purposes.

Food stalls will also be present at the event throughout the day, and right after the prize-giving ceremony which follows shortly after the final game of the day, DJ Coco will entertain the crowd in the beer tent until late at night.
