Cycling for Cancer

Christopher du Plessis of Kingdom Cycling Club (right) visited Rienette Koegelenberg and Ansa Ellis of the Cancer Association earlier this week to present them with a donation of N$34,000 from the proceeds of a cycling event that took place in May. Another beneficiary, the Quinton Steele Botes Trust also received N$34,000. The funds were raised at a two-day 24-hour relay cycling event organised in collaboration with Radio Wave. In total, the charity cycling event raised N$112,000. The cycling club also donated heaters, diapers, toiletries and washing powder to children living with cancer. Last the cyclist gave the Cancer Association N$56,000 and donated a tumble dryer to the children in the Quinton Steele Botes cancer ward.
