Miss Outapi shelved, set to take place in 2017

22 December 2016 – The organisers of the Miss Outapi Beauty Pageant announced recently that they has cancelled the pageant for 2016 and the event is only said to take place next year in May.

According to a statement they issued, there are ongoing renovations of the venue, which is home to the pageant at the Outapi Mini Lodge and after completion is set to accommodate more visitors.

The renovation project is to the tune of N$2 million and will see additional rooms, a conference facility, spacious VIP lounge, extra customers parking facilities as some of the changes to look forward to.

Sackey Aipinge, the owner and main sponsor said that the Miss Outapi Beauty pageant has since 2011 became one of the fastest growing social gatherings on the events calendar in northern Namibia.

While the pageant celebrates the cultures within the Omusati Region it has also served as a springboard to promote socio-economic inclusion and development in the area.

As the main sponsor of the annual Miss Outapi Pageant, Mr. Aipinge and his steering committee encourages talented artists and dancers who have scooped awards or graced stages with international artists at Namibia’s biggest annual entertaining events, to approach the committee for a platform to further share their talent.
